| Background Since the implementation of the Clearing 21 Settlement system, we have been maintaining and displaying duplicate settlement variation and performance bond data both in C21 and on the old 3270 based CSS (Clearing Settlement System). Unfortunately, this duo existence adds to the settlement processing time on our mainframe, and uses up vital system memory. Today, firms can access all Clearing 21 applications not only via the dedicated C21 workstations, but also using CITRIX remote access (thin client) via the FIN or dial-up modem. Many firms already use CITRIX to access EFS, the Exchange Fee System. Therefore, any member firm that does not already have C21 access can easily gain that access at little or no cost. To further improve the efficiency of our processing and reduce operational costs, effective Thursday, November 30, 2000 the CME will no longer support the CSS (Clearing Settlement System). Firms who already have access to Clearing 21 should start using the Settlement application as soon as possible, in order to view their RTH and ITD settlement variation and performance bond requirements. If you do not have the proper security access, please submit an on-line access form to the Customer Support Group and request access. Forms may be obtained at the Client Management Pages. Settlement Overview Seminars In October and November, we will offer training seminars for firm staff to present how to view Settlement information using Clearing 21. A schedule will be published next week. We will provide written documentation as well. If your firm has non-Chicago users that will need access, please have them contact Karen McCoy (321-930-4524, kmccoy@cme.com) or Mahmoud Ajamia (312-634-1595, majamia@cme.com) in Systems Liaison and they will forward the necessary documentation and/or CITRIX access information and software to facilitate access to Settlement and Performance Bond information. There will be additional notices sent regarding to this change. Please forward this notice on to all staff within your organization that need to access Settlement and Performance Bond information for your firm. If you have any questions, please call Karen F. McCoy at (312) 930-4524, or email kmccoy@cme.com. Thank you. |
